This popular street food of India momos original comes from Tibetan cuisine. But in India people make different types of momos as per their choice. We named The momos as per their stuffing's name. In this recipe I use varieties of vegetables and spices. You must find a easy process to make momos at home in this blog.
Ingredients :
For making doug:
3 cup refined flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp refined oil
Water foe making dough
Ingredients :
For stuffing :
4 tsp oil
2 onion
2 tbsp grated garlic
1 tsp grated Ginger
½ grated cauliflower
2 grated capsicum
3 grated carrot
½ tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp soya sauce
Salt as per taste
Method :
Add salt and 2 tsp refined oil in refined flour.
Mix it properly.
Then add water step by step and make a stiff dough.
Momo's dough should be in samosa dough consistency.
Knead the dough for 2 minutes till it become smooth.
Cover the dough and keep aside for 10 minutes.
For making stuffing add 4 tbsp refined oil in a pan and heat it in medium flame.
Then add onion pieces in hot oil and stir it for half minute.
Then add grated ginger garlic in it.
Then add all grated vegetables and salt as per your taste.
Stir vegetables for 2 minutes in medium flame till it half cook.
Then add black pepper powder and 1 tsp soya sauce in vegetable.
Mix all ingredients properly.
Stuffing is ready for making momos.
Arrange double boiler system for steaming the momos.
Now make small balls in dough for making momos.
Roll the small dough balls with the help of rolling pin.
Make small Poori with the dough ball.
Add 1 tsp vegetable stuffing in the middle part of the Poori.
Now add some water in the side of the Poori.
Fold the Poori in one side and make it round shape.
When all momos are ready, grease a steaming plate and keep the momos in it.
Then steam it for 15 minutes in medium flame.
After 15 minutes take momos in a plate and serve it with chutney or sauce.
